meanwhile与while的区别

meanwhile 表示并列连接，通常含有递进的意思，等于中文的“与此同时“

while 表示转折，有对比的含义，等于中文的“却“

但是转折和对比的含义并不太强烈。

举个例子就明白了。

he is a good hu**and, meanwhile he is also a good father

他是一个好丈夫，同时也是一个好父亲

he is a good hu**and while not a good father

他是一个好丈夫，却不是一个好父亲。

meanwhile是不是连词

Meanwhile 是连词。请参考《结束蹦单词时代：外教教你用连词》，中国书籍出版社，第172-173页：

1. My mum was cooking in the kitchen. Meanwhile, I set the table.

2. The groom was waiting in the church, but meanwhile the bride was nowhere to be found.

3. The kids are at school, so meanwhile we have all the time to ourselves.

meanwhile 表示“与此同时”或“在此期间”。meanwhile 可以放在第二句话的开头（后面放逗号）或 but/ so 后面，其后放从句。meanwhile 既是口语又是书面语。

“同时” 前面用句号还是逗号

 句号，因为meanwhile是副词不是连词。副词不能用于连接独立的句子。

如果后面的句子比较短，比如：“我们最常见的词语由两个字组成，例如开心、东西、笑话等等。”一般用逗号。

我们清楚地记得，那是1952年的春天，金达莱花开满山野的时候，您知道我们缺少蔬菜，就挎着篮子上山挖野菜。

meanwhile though 是2个连接副词，不能接动词原形，一般连接副词接“动名词”形式，普通副词可以接动词原形。

Tom gets to london meanwhile though delaying on the way.

不能说: Tom gets to london meanwhile though delay on the way.

meanwhile though 后面所有成分都是状语,动词原形不能出现在状语成分中。

“meanwhile”紧接“and”或“,and”合适吗？

不适合，meanwhile本身就是作为连词用的，and也是连词，放在一起用就相当于你把although和but连用，那一样是不行的

也许是口语上说话不够标准的原因，或者你听错了……
