父母虐待子女是违反法定监护责任的表现，轻则违法，严重的虐待行为则涉嫌犯罪。

1、未成年人保**规定，父母或者其他监护人应当依法履行对未成年人的监护职责和抚养义务，不得虐待、遗弃未成年人不得歧视女性未成年人或者有残疾的未成年人；禁止溺婴、弃婴。

4、《民法典》第一千零四十二条 禁止包办、买卖婚姻和其他干涉婚姻自由的行为。禁止借婚姻索取财物。
