I'm writing to share with you my experience of visiting the elderly in a nursing home last weekend.
To be honest, I was a bit nervous before the visit. I didn't know what to say or how to act around the elderly. However, as soon as I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the staff and the elderly residents.
I spent most of my time chatting with an elderly lady named Mrs. Wang. She told me about her life when she was young, and I shared with her my school life and hobbies. Although we were from different generations, we found common interests and had a great time together.
After the visit, I realized that the elderly in the nursing home need not only physical care but also emotional support. They long for companionship and communication with the outside world. I'm glad that I could bring them some joy and comfort.
