As a grade three student, I have learned a lot from the English textbooks in the first semester of grade one. I have read many interesting stories and learned some basic grammar rules. One of my favorite stories is “The Ugly Duckling”. It tells us that we should never judge others by their appearance. The duckling was considered ugly by his brothers and sisters, but he grew up to be a beautiful swan. This story teaches us a valuable lesson about not judging others based on their looks.
Another story that I enjoyed reading was “The Monkey’s Paw”. It is a scary story about a family who makes a wish on a monkey’s paw, but the wish comes with a terrible consequence. This story teaches us that we should be careful what we wish for and think about the consequences of our actions.
In addition to reading stories, I also learned some basic grammar rules. For example, I learned about simple present tense, present continuous tense, and simple past tense. These grammar rules are important for understanding English sentences and for writing our own sentences correctly.
Overall, the first semester of grade one English has been very interesting and informative. I look forward to learning more in the next semester.
