其中，assume的意思为：

assume control/responsibility etc：to start to have control, responsibility etc or to start in a particular position or job : （承担，就任，担当，就职等意思）

从上面这些用法看，assume 后接 某某职务的责任、官职 是正确的。而如果是接某某职务的名称，似乎不这么用。

用 assume the office of 或者 hold the post of 是肯定没问题的，如果不嫌罗嗦。另外，assume 词宽咐如义太丰富，用罗嗦的词组不容易引起误解。

所以，我觉得 用 hold the post of Inner Censor 更好。

另外，如果你需要使用 过去时，那当简大然改 hold 为 held。

（当然，我不敢说 assumed the inner censor 是错误的）。
