【用法】
1、aim从本义“靶子”引申而来，侧重比较具体而明确的目标，但常指短期目标。
What is your aim in life?
你的生活目标是什么？
The aim of the policy is the preservation of peace.
这一政策旨在维护和平。
Take careful aim at the target before firing.
开火之前仔细瞄准目标。
2、goal指经过考虑和选择，需经坚持不懈的努力奋斗才能达到的最终目标。
No. 6 gave a long shot, but missed the goal.
6号来了一个长射，但没有射中球门。
He has achieved his goal.
他已经实现了他的目标。
If we lose sight of the goal, we cease to be Communists.
如果忘记了这个目标，我们就不再是共产党员了。
3、purpose普通用词，既指以坚决、审慎的行动去达到的目的，又指心中渴望要实现的目标。
What is the purpose of your visit?

He was a man of purpose.

I am sure that he came here with ill purpose.
我敢断定,他这次来意图不轨。
4、intention普通用词，指某人内心产生的想做某事的想法，侧重内心活动。
I held back not knowing his real intention.
我有点犹豫不定,不知道他的真正意图是什么。

intention purpose 的区别
intention、purpose的区别为：指代不同、用法不同、侧重点不同。
一、指代不同
1、intention：打算，计划。
2、purpose：意图，目的。
二、用法不同
1、intention：intention仅表示有意做某事，不强调有明确的计划，intent比起intention来，有更为明确的计划。intention普通用词，指某人内心产生的想做某事的想法，侧重内心活动。
2、purpose：purpose的基本意思是“目的，意图”，指某人做某事所要达到的某一特定目标，也可指某一事物在某一活动或另一事物中所起的“作用”，还可指“意志，毅力，决心”。purpose后可跟介词in，也可跟介词of。当purpose前是物主代词时，后面的介词要用in，而不能用of
三、侧重点不同
1、intention：intention只能做名词。
2、purpose：purpose可以做动词。
