dominant的意思是有统治权利的,比如The king was dominant。而第二个单词的意思和dominative相同,意思是受控的,比如The robot is dominated( or dominative)。显性的dominate others支配别人。dominate a factory economically在经济上控制一个工厂。

predominate和dominate的意思相同，可是用法有区别。

predominate因为不是及物动词（transitive verb),所以在predominate后面需要接介词，或者不接任何词。

dominate用法可像predominate一样，不过一般用法是当成及物动词来用，后面一般要接上名词。
