This week I didn’t do many wonderful things.

I went to learn developing film with my clas**ates on July 1st. It was easy and we all got good marks.

On July 4th, I went to school to learn, because I will be a junior three student soon. We would have to learn some lessons in advance. The weather was very hot. But I didn’t feel that learning lessons was boring. Some teachers are new. They are good I think, although they are all looked strict. And the lessons were not too bad.

This week was the beginning of this summer holiday, but it was really typical.

一、听专业讲座，了解周记写作范围

不少同学可能对周记的范围还比较陌生，对其写作用还只有一个模糊的概念。这就要求大家积极参加各种讲座，从而增长知识，开阔视野中，激发兴趣，打开写作的思路。我校的老师曾给同学们开了不少这方面的讲座，如：“口语与书面语的差异”，“中外写作思维模式比较”，“写作的层次”，“语法与写作”，“词汇与写作”，“中文与英文写作的共性与特殊性”等，从中同学们可了解到英文写作(当然也包括周记)的基础理论，对英文写作有一个理性的认识，以提高自己的信心。

二、找写作素材，确定周记写作内容

同学们学习了一些写作理论，并不意味着就能写周记。怎样找写作素材也是个大问题，否则就是“无米之炊”了。我们的建议是：在写作的起始阶段，大家可围绕日常课堂上学习的内容来写一点东西。例如：可根据单元学过的课文内容确定一个题目(topic)，根据这个题目写一段英文，此时素材是现成的，写起来比较方便。经过一个阶段的练习之后，同学们可每周自己选择题目(或根据老师布置的题目)，再根据这个题目去找有关的范文，看看别人怎么写的，最后根据自己的情况，写出周记。这些题目一上来应集中在同学们比较熟悉的事物或人物上。这样写起来就有话可说。如：”My Hometown”,”My Father”,”My Favourite Season”等。

三、增加阅读数量，拓宽周记作思路

在经过一段时间的规定题材写作之后，同学们应增加自己的阅读量，拓宽臫的写作思路。因为周记毕竟不同于日记，它的写作范围要宽得多。同学们可根据自己平时感兴趣的题目或当前社会上比热门的话题来进行周记写作。如现在高科技是大家比较关心的问题，其中电脑(computer)又是大家感兴趣的东西，当然这方面的材料，课本上、报纸上比较多。选这类话题写周记时，就有话可说，这不但能提高大家的英文写作水平，也能拓宽大家的知识面。

四、办习作园地，提高周记写作兴趣

为了检查一下自己的周记写作能力，同学们可自己组织办一些习作园地，将自己认为较好的作品公布出来，让大家来观摩、评论，以发现优点，找出不足。其中一些大家公认为比较好的文章，可通过老师(或自行投寄)投稿到校文播站或学生杂志上去。这样同学们便可得到成功的喜悦，提高写作的信心，增加英语学习的兴趣。
