休假由来

汉代

在汉代出现官员休息制度，休息那天每个人都要沐浴更衣，所以称假日为“沐日”。汉代规定，朝中官员可每五天返家沐浴，所以叫“五日休”。到了唐代改为“旬休”，也就是十天可休息一天。

唐代

除定期的休假日外，还有节假日。唐代时中秋节给假三天;寒食清明四天;明代冬至给假三天，元宵十天。此外还定有“急假”，官吏用以处置紧急家事，一年可以60天为限。对官吏的假日，历代均有严格的规定。唐代规定三品以上假满之日，须到衙门报到，否则罚俸禄一月。有的人还因此被罢官免职。

清朝初年
