khronos是什么意思

khronos的意思是时空旅行者。

在古希腊神话的俄耳甫斯教派中，有一位时间之神，叫作Khronos（柯罗诺斯）。他是时间的神格化，象征着永远存在、无始无终、自有永有的时间。俄耳甫斯密教认为，柯罗诺斯是最初的神灵，是宇宙的第一因，是混沌和秩序的来源，并从中诞生了定数女神阿南刻，成为他的配偶。

柯罗诺斯是无形无象的超神，又或者化身为蛇的形象出现——拥有三颗头：人头、牛头及狮子头，除此之外还有无数的形象，如有翅膀的青须老者、环绕着混沌的龙……等等。他与配偶阿南刻围绕着原始世界卵盘绕，然后将混沌分开，形成了天堂、大地、大海与天空。

值得注意的是，柯罗诺斯是俄耳甫斯教派（密教）中独有的神灵，并不存在于荷马和赫西俄德等人的古希腊神话系统中。他和宙斯的父亲、第二代神王Cronus（克洛诺斯）的拼写和发音都很接近，常常被人混为一谈，其实是不同神话教派中的两位神灵。

在希腊语中，柯罗诺斯的名字Khronos就是“时间”的意思，由词干khron-（时间）和名词词尾-os构成。英语中表示“时间”的词根chron-就来源于此。后面接辅音字母时，词根chron-后面会保留元音字母o，变成chrono-。

下面我们来学习几个由词根chron-（时间）衍生的典型英语单词。

第一个单词是chronic，由词根chron-（时间）加形容词后缀-ic组成。chronic是个形容词，意思是慢性的，长期的，习惯性的。例如：They think his illness is acute rather than chronic. 他们认为他的病是急性的，不是慢性的。

第二个单词是chronicle，由单词chronic（长期的）加名词后缀-le组成，是个名词，表示编年史，年代史。例如：In the afternoon, I nearly fell asleep when reading a chronicle. 下午读了本编年史，又差点睡着了。

第三个单词是chronology，由词根chrono-（时间）加后缀-logy（学科）组成，字面意思就是“关于时间的学问”，“按时间顺序记录的事件”，即所谓的“年代学”、“年表”。例如：He gave a detailed chronology of the main events of the last three days. 他详细按时间先后讲述了过去三天内发生的事件。

第四个单词是synchronous，在词根chron-（时间）前面加了一个前缀syn-（一起），后面加了一个形容词后缀-ous，整个单词的字母意思就是“时间上在一起的”，所以为“同时的，同步的”，比如：All operations are synchronous. 所有操作都是同步的。

把synchronous的后缀变成动词后缀-ize，得到对应的动词synchronize，意思是“同时发生，使同步”，比如：The film does not synchronize with sound. 影片画面与声音不同步。Soldiers used watches to synchronize movements. 士兵们使用手表来同步行动。
