我一直在从事一对一雅思英语教学,所以,针对如何学雅思,我专门在博客里写了篇文章:

如何正确地学习雅思?

由于自己一直在教授雅思,接触的学生大部分也是打算出国读书的,而且基础一般不怎么好。很多学生刚开始信心不足,也不知如何学起。昨天在百度知道里面逛了下,发觉有这类问题的朋友还真不少。很多都是在上面求助如何如何自己才能在几个月或者是一年时间内雅思过5.5,6分啊之类的。

首先,我觉得要把考生分为两大类:一类是英语基础比较差的(第一次考试5.5以下的为标准吧,如果是大学生没过六级);另一类是英语基础较好的(第一次能考过6分的标准,如果是大学生过了六级)

我教授的学生以第一类学生居多。针对这种情况,首先必须把基础补好。正所谓“万丈高楼平地起”,基础的根基扎实了,各种各类的英语考试都不怕了,各类英语考试的区别仅在于考的题型与侧重点不一样,但都还不是为了考查英语的运用能力,你的英语水平的?但很多学生都只盯着雅思呀,四六级呀,考研英语呀……所以,出现了各类门路的培训班,去了后大家在一起热火朝天地听老师鼓吹雅思的应试技巧:什么“连猜带蒙法”还有的老师说,学了我这些方法后,你一定能拿到六分之类的话。试想一下,如果一个英语基础很差的学生,如果每天不需要花时间踏踏实实地学英语,只需学这些所谓的技巧和方法就可以轻松拿到自己想要的分数,那还有这么多人这么苦恼地问怎么考雅思了?

所以,首先学英语心态要好,不要急功近利;其次,大的方向和方法要正确:那就是花点时间和功夫把英语的基本功练好,这样就慢慢上路了。

英语的基础又大致可分为以下几个方法:1)语法基础----这是英语基础里面的重中之重,尤其对于以书面英语应用为主的朋友,主要是出国读书或工作中用到的英语。

我们很多人学了很长时间的英语,但是仍然没有掌握英语,仍然不能运用英语。有人认为:英语是交流的工具,只要能交流就行了。当然,英语是一种语言,语言是人类交际的工具,这不会错,但“只要能交流就行了”这话说的太含糊,“能交流”的程度指的是猜谜语式的对话,还是能准确表情达意的话语。说话得有条理、有逻辑、有思维、有内容,你的话应该是能较准确地表情达意的,而不是支离破碎的英语单词,总之,学语法是为了更好得表情达意;此外,很多人还觉得讲语法那是机械地学习英语,是老教材所提倡的,现在教材不是都改革了吗?诚然,学英语不是为了学英语语法,但借助英语语法学英语可以减少死记硬背之苦,起事半功倍的作用,犹如借助拐杖学走路一样。为什么英语国家的人不十分强调英语语法的学习和掌握,那是他们有大量运用英语语言的机会。他们潜意识里就在用,只是他们自己不知道而已,但并不表示他们没有运用英语语法。如果,对于中国人而言,英语语法就是象拐杖一样,刚开始的时候,我们要依赖它进行行走。毕竟英语不是我们的母语,英语与汉语又是截然不同的,所以我们必须要学习语法,从这点来讲,学语法不要找老外讲,他们讲不清楚的。知道了学语法的重要性,接下来就是要讲语法的正确学习方法了,一是要有整体系统学习,要学会归纳和演绎,由此及彼;二是要借助对母语的了解,琢磨汉语和英语的异同之处,转而进行两种语言之间对比。2)语音基础:指地道得和外国人一样或接近的英语发音能力,这对于口语很重要了,这点想必大家都清楚;3)词汇基础:学英语首先必须要有一定的词汇量,即词汇基础,个人觉得,这个靠死记硬背最有效,估计这个要挨砖头了。不过,我还是坚持自己的观点。试想,如果单词空白的情况下,如何凭借所谓的方法去记单词?所以,基础单词靠死记硬背最有效,记得最牢。等有了一定的词汇量后,再结合正确的方法,比如说词根词缀法,辅之分类记忆法才有效。但基础词汇最好是死记硬背,日积月累,循环记忆最牢固。

把这几个基本功打扎实了,再去结合雅思的考试题型与特点针对性地进行做题练习,不断巩固,就会慢慢提高的。这不仅仅是应试,更重要的是提高英语的实际运用水平与能力。

再提一点,基础功一般在所谓的各种雅思培训班里是学不到的。各种培训班主要是讲授一些考试特点与题型,就算是有所谓的基础班,一般以新概念为教材,这个大部分老师也只是讲讲课文,不系统,而且课上得太快,学生没时间消化,上完了也就是走了一道的感觉,作用不是很大。否则,我的很多学生也没必要花了很多钱在雅思班里上过之后再来找我了。

以上是针对基础比较差的学生而言的,对于英语基础比较好的学生,第一次去考的时候如果感觉心里没底,可以报一个雅思培训班,因为里面主要是教授应试技巧和题型的,了解一下。再结合平时自己的训练,应该就差不多了。

大部分学生一说到学英语,想到的都是去学“听说读写”,而没人想到先学基本功,没有基本功去听说读写,就是去盖一个没有地基的房子,就是空中楼阁,学了单词不会用,到头来学得还是支离破碎的英语。这就是你学多少年英语也学不会的原因!

总之,正确的方法就是:先把英语基础打好,然后再结合雅思考试题型与特点针对性进行训练,这样,你就会慢慢上路的。英语也在无形中得到实质性提高。否则,今天背几个单词,听几段短文,明天看几篇文章,写几个句子,都是在浪费时间,自己也学得没有信心。以后大家可要注意学习英语的时间分配了。

我说这个,不是空谈的,是有成功案例的。我曾经带过一个学生,她是高三出国的。这个学生平时比较爱玩,喜欢看些外国电影,单词量也不少。第一次去给她上课的时候,我就让她把最近写过的一篇作文给我看,我发觉她存在的最大问题就是语法。然后我就建议她先把语法系统跟着我学好。关于雅思的东西一律不讲。结果当时刚好把语法学完后,她就去考试了。一下子就考到了六分。

所以,之所以花这么长时间来写这篇文章,也是为了让考雅思的学生,甚至是参加各种英语考试的学生指一条正道。希望大家在明白这个道理后,能静下心来按照这个方法去学,我想最终你会发觉不光是考试过关了,更重要的是英语水平真正提高了,更重要的是懂得了学习英语的正确方法。
