Dear Peter,

Iam exceedingly delighted to hear from you. You asked me in your last letter about the physical exercise in our school and the following information may give you a rough sketch.

To begin with, a fabulous new stadium has been built up, which has become the new landmark in our school. Moreover, with the stadium set up, a wide range of sports events are able to be held, of which ping-pong, football as well as running competitions enjoy great popularity. As for me, I’m intoxicated with basketball since it has been giving me strength to confront the challenges in my life.

All in all, I sincerely invite you to come to our school and see for yourself.

Yours,

Li Hua

There exist a sea of private individuals having passion for me.

a sea of =many      大量,许多

have affection (passion) for    深爱着

private individuals    人群

Winter approaching , spring will be round the corner.

be round the corner

These processess of thought have to be acquired by a sort of special training.

a sort of    一种,有点

Being meaningful is to live happily and living happily is to do meaningful things.

There seems a friend coming from afar, and consequently, i feel exceedingly delighted.

come form afar    从远方来
