英语:the absent of 对吗?还是absence啊
absent 形容词,当前面用定冠词时意为缺席的人,或者不在场的东西。
而the absence of ⋯是"在⋯不在场"。
这个of表什么? 还有absence without leave为什么是无端请假
leave作名词,有“准假; 假期; 辞别; 许可;”等意思,absense是不出席,without leave是没有准假,没有批准离开,所以absense without leave是无端请假。
leave of absense,这里的leave也是名词,of联系前后两个名词,可以理解为absense的leave,也就是没有出席的请假,也就是没有出面的请假,其实就是无端请假的意思。
absence与absent的意思与区别?
它们都是“缺席”的意思,区别如下:
一、词性不同
absence是名词,例句:
conspicuous by your absence.
(本应在场)因缺席而招人注意。
absent是形容词,例句:

二、用法不同
absence通常为不可数名词,但表示缺席或离开的次数或时间时,为可数名词;表示做某事缺席,其后通常接介词from。absent用作及物动词时常接反身代词作宾语,其后常接from引起的介词短语,偶尔也可用作不及物动词。
absent的在句中可用作定语或表语。用作表语时常与介词from连用,有时还可接动名词,主语一般为人。absent作“没有的,缺乏的”意思时是正式用法,在句中多用作表语,常与介词from连用,主语一般为物。

absent因介词不同会导致含义的变化,而absence则不会,比如:
