不可以。

1、词义方面，conduct的词义为动词，而carryon词义为形容词，词义不同无法替代。

2、用法方面，conduct搭配的是主谓宾句子，而carryon多用于一般过去时。

perform 与 conduct的区别

① perform

②conduct

因此，例句里面的doctor应该是performing（实施，而且是由头至尾的）手术；用了conduct反而不合适了。 conduct 一个survey是可以的，虽然中文翻译还是“作调查”，但其实是控制，引导（设置是设计）了一个调查。
